PYN Review of The Vampire's Warden by SJ Wright

The Vampire’s Warden by S.J. Wright
Review written by Morgan Wylie
Blurb for the book:
It was a flash in the moonlight, a blur of motion like I’d never witnessed before. No human had the capacity to move like that. When I found myself face-to-face with him there in the meadow, I knew without a doubt that the journal was authentic. I knew that my grandfather hadn’t been crazy at all.
Because a foot away from me stood a vampire.
Sarah reads her grandfather's journal in stunned disbelief. What was once her grandfather's responsibility has passed to her father and now to her. She has become the Warden. Her life will never be the same.

“The Vampire’s Warden” is the first in an expanding series of novellas.  Our heroine in this series, Sarah, runs her family inn on the outskirts of town in Brown County, Indiana after her father’s recent death. Unbeknownst to her, she has inherited more than just the inn.
She is given a journal by the town doctor who reveals a secret that turns her life upside down. In her struggle to be strong and get control of her newfound situation, she does everything in her power to protect her younger sister, Katie, from getting involved. Only it might be too late.
This story is a refreshing take on vampires and one I’ve not yet read about. The idea of a human warden that keeps charge over resting or imprisoned vampires is new to me, but I loved it! Sarah is a strong female who is finding her way in this new way of life she was thrust into. It is a fast-paced read complete with action, strength, defiance, romance, mystery, and raw emotion. If you like vampire’s and romance, this is a great read- I couldn’t put it down!

  1. Hmm, sounds a bit like Supernatural season one, where the boys were following in their father's footsteps via his journal and how Dean protected Sam, no matter the cost. I'll check out the Amazon preview and see how that reads. Thanks for the rec!
